NomBox is redefining how students eat. We believe that the lunch experience should be enjoyable, high quality and affordable and we are ready to make it happen.
Cooking is an art, a hard one to master. Even more so if you have lectures, exams, essays, student societies, deadlines, and, yes, even parties to take care of. Student life is busy, and since many students don’t have the time or skill to cook for themselves they end up either fixing themselves some plain lunch option every single time (e.g. pasta, sandwiches, etc.) or eating out. The latter brings us to the second problem students face, eating out is expensive. Even the cheapest options will take a big toll on a student’s budget. And let’s face it, the cheap options, the ones students will usually go for, aren’t usually very tasty or healthy.
However, there is another group of students. Those who know how to cook, but most importantly, enjoy it! These student chefs, already spend time cooking their own lunch several times a week and wouldn’t mind some extra pounds!
What if we could bring these two groups together? NomBox, see an opportunity to connect students who are looking for good food at an affordable price with those who already cook and would benefit with making some extra pocket money.
During this phase, we explored the possibilities and positions of the product. The goal is to define the key features in the platform. And market wise, we also searched for resources, like key partners and defining the strategy to spread the service.
We interviewed UCL students and observed the daily routine of students’ lunch.
Our customers will be able to experience NomBox through our web-based platform. There, they will find information about how NomBox works and they will be able to join the community. The website will be responsive, so that both chefs and foodies are able to connect to NomBox from any device, whenever and wherever they need to.
The NomBox platform will feature the following:
For launching the business, the key factors are searching for partners and available resources. Early market launching partners include local student groups and societies, food-related events.
